Poem: A Girl's Mother - Written By Emmanuel Amoh

Emmanuel Amoh

A girl’s mother
Sat close by this dry well
She thinks about her poor daughter
After feeding on the crumbs she used to sell

Because her unborn child mourns her unseen father
A tragic story she may hardly tell
A girl`s mother weeps
Regretting the opportunity, she blew like a wind in rainy June

A lifestyle she dreams of each time she sleeps
May not come true
The unborn leader she keeps
She has no clue

A girl`s mother yells
The hour of labour beckons
The angels sound the heavenly bells

And the mother`s pain lessens
